Squeaky front brake

Any obvious ideas as to what I can do about my squeaky front brake - only does it at low speed.

Also my ABS kicks in on the back wheel when I downshift hard (locking the wheel momentarily) ... which then means if I need to apply back brake the pedal is hard as rock!

strip, clean then reassembly with a dab of copper slip the rear of the pads? service manual doesn't recommend any grease on the backs of the pads but then I'd be surprised if it would.


as for downshifting hard, maybe look at chain tension? I've had the same symptoms happen once when the rear tyre hit a big pot hole, for some reason (I can't work out) there was a momentary lock up and then the back brake pedal was hard not been able to repeat it since!
