    5000 Mile Service

Does anyone know what's involved in a 5000 mile service I'm sick of paying expensive labour charges when I could probably do it myself. Is it just brake pads, oil, chain tensioning and clean and oil and bits like that or is it internal engine checks?

What kind of paint do you reckon handlebar 'furniture' etc is done with?

I'm looking to tidy up the grotty faded black paint on the brake reservoir and brackets that hold the clutch, front brake etc on my other bike. I want it to look original, so Hammerite isn't really going to work. Any ideas / guesses as to what would work best? It might just be a can of matt...

    Front brake caliper binding?

Hi All, Looking for some advice from the mechanically minded, please... In October I decided to upgrade my brake pads - installed a set of Ferodo sintered. I really liked them, I felt the initial bite was better and had better feedback from the front of the bike. In November my bike went for...

New brake lever - Adjusting brake light switch

Today I finally installed the cheap but very nice and sturdy clutch and brake levers that I got from Ebay. It went well but now the brake light doesn't come on until I brake pretty hard. Adjusting the rear brake light switch is easy but I haven't been able to find out how to adjust the front...

    Hello Fellow Riders!

Have been keeping an eye on this forum since buying my Mt-07 at beginning of March. Guess I would be classed as an "old timer" having ridden bikes since 1965. Have currently got a Yamaha Fazer FZS 600 (2003) and this new little beauty. It is the competition white colour & is standard at present...

    Minor crash

So I fell with my bike. Going about 30 km/h, the road was turning and full of gravel, the front wheel completely lost any grip. The road was slightly damped on that patch and completely covered in dirt and small rocks. Perhaps it was also my mistake, perhaps I used too much front brake. I have...

    Oh Dear...

Well, I rode my MT on salted roads for the first time the other day. Washed it when I got home and today I found that the front caliper bolts and the brake pipe unions are scabby as fook. Doesn't bode well for winter use. The same bits on my Bandit looked better after 7 years...:(

    Rear brake performance.

Need some advice. I came from a cruiser with a large wide rear drum brake to the MT07 with disc. I find the brakes to be unusual, in that some times it feels good and other times it feels weak. I am by nature a rear brake rider most notability when coming to a stop at lights etc, I like to bilp...

    Squeaky front brake

Any obvious ideas as to what I can do about my squeaky front brake - only does it at low speed. Also my ABS kicks in on the back wheel when I downshift hard (locking the wheel momentarily) ... which then means if I need to apply back brake the pedal is hard as rock!
