Why an MT-07... 3 reasons please..!

I tried the Street and found it too cramped and the steering lock is awful

    What would you do?

most of us fall off occasionally, it can be a matter of luck whether it's serious. Over 40 years on a bike I've come off 4 times, only once involved a couple of days in hospital for concussion but nothing broken. Saying that, in a marriage both partners have the right of veto, if one of us...

    The MT-07 Picture Game

nice one Kanonnier, like the standard bike, I'll have a go at the water. btw, i was on the island of Carriacou near Grenada; a policeman was wearing an Arsenal shirt. I said "oh, you're a gooner", he replied "oh yes I'm a gooner" - so many fans all over the world

    What is this? Please help

that's funny, mine is clean, done about 800km and never seen this, probably not riding hard enough! I might give the area a coat of wax before it starts to happen

    First couple of rides

bike wants to rev so I rev her. What isn't so easy is making smooth down-changes. I think it is the high compression - my XT was 8.5 and old so probably 8.0, this is much tighter

    Colour Dilemma...

get red, white or grey, the other colours will date. Yam must make some styling changes next year, will probably drop racing blue and add orange or something

    why modify

how many different new bikes are there? The big 4 makes about 80, plus Triumph,BMW,Ktm,Guzzi,Aprilia plus some others; there must be over 200 new models to choose from. our lovely little MT07 is a whizzy back-lane bike, she isn't a tourer, a trackday nor a sports bike. She is quiet enough not...

Engine cuts off when the clutch lever pulled in

mine has only done it once and I'm still running in. I would guess it is fuelling because the 70mpg I'm getting (so are other riders) is so economical for a 700cc bike

    Triumph Street Triple headlight retrofit

that is better than any of the other modifications

    Tool Kit Contents..

the rubber strap is to hold the toolkit in the tray under the seat, there are moulded bits at each side of the tray for the loops to hook around. This is like we used to have for a battery holder. the wire is the helmet lock, although I didn't get one. I wouldn't leave a £300 helmet attached...

    Fuel consumption

Irksome - 40mpg is dreadful! I suppose town riding around Wandsworth you are buzzing around 3rd-4th gear not like us on the open road in 6th.

    Speedo Error

at an indicated 90kph our village speed warning sign says I'm doing 86kph. our Peugeot car is slightly more optimistic. Trouble is, now I try to aim at getting the sign to give me exactly 90, my speedo is about 95 and so on.

    Improve braking performance

brakes seem ok to me, although mostly I slow down on the throttle using the 11.5-1 compression ratio

    Ohlins sunspension kit for mt-07

wow. I had Ohlins on the rear of my Hinkley Trident and it transformed the handling

    R&G mirror extenders

hi - being, er, careful with my wallet (some might say tight) I bought a 10mm bolt, a threaded insert and a couple of nuts from a hardware store. I'll put a black sleeve over sometime. Cost? about 3 pounds. it moves the mirror about 1.5 inches (4cm). oh, I hacksawed the head off the bolt of...

Changing to a longer handle bar with step-up

I bought a pair like that for my Commando, the dealer said that if they weren't comfortable then I could put them on my helmet!

What other bikes do you own (have owned) and how do they compare to the MT ?

agree with Ralph, the MT07 is like a Morini, I had a 500.

Fitting radiator guard with side covers

-could I paint the top and bottom of the radiator with black exhaust paint?

    MT-07 different exhuast sounds

all I hear is the whoosh of the wind past my helmet and then the nee-na nee-na of blue flashing lights

hello all, and a bit of help please

definitely put a piece of wood under the propstand, it relieves the uneven pressure on the fork seals. if the door is narrow you can get one end of the handlebars through then the other, that's what I do. you will need a slope to the ground too.
