Cheap axle sliders

I have not done this to my bike, just found it on a French forum..

6mm on the rear axle and 394mm length, and 8mm on the front with 306mm.

They are using normal skate wheels.. but I reckon we can use normal sliders, maybe replacement parts witch are always cheaper than the whole kit.

I have some reserves regarding the strengh of the 6mm on the rear...

Skate wheels was a brilliant idea, looks good specially at rear axle (but i prefer combination of paddock stand spools and sliders at rear).
I can confirm that M8 works well on front axle and that M6 is a little week for the long rear axle, when tightening the nuts the M6 rod does both stretch in lenght and flex torsionally so you can very easy trash the threads of the M6 rod. There is no risk the sliders are coming off if/when sliding, but you have to be gentle when doing/unding the slider nuts.
