    MT-09 Tracer

Personally I really like the looks of the bike, although a little bit less of an 'allroad' look would have been nice (bit more sporty look or something). Anyway, will be riding one in spring and really interested how it is in comparison to the MT07. I'm ready to buy one, to replace the 07 :)...

    Exhaust Issue

After a few thousand kms with my SC Project a piece of metal went on the loose in the exhaust. (Round mesh-like metal thing). Got a new exhaust from sc project and then sent back the faulty one. However, the new one did not fit (Y piece was a bit oval and not round). So they were gonna replace...

Yellow driving glasses for the winter, the pro's..

You forgot the most important one! With the yellow tint it always looks sunny and will brighten up your mood and day! :D

    Braided Brake Lines

Saw a video about how to change the pads recently, let me have a look for you :) Found it!: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CI4SfSi_RqE The order in the repair manual is a bit different (there the clip and pins are removed with the caliper still on the bike). And in the repair manual the bleed...

    Quick shifter

Makes sense, because where do you think it gets its power from? :p Did have that moment myself (although it is somewhere in the manual, but who reads that thing after checking images and the YouTube video :) ), luckily I tried the kill switch quite fast so didn't spent too much time on it. But...

    Quick shifter

Yeah, it's great to have multiple setups which you can change almost on the fly. Great if you do some track days for example. Just too bad the exports cannot be shared between users/units (we tried that at the dutch forums, no luck :) ). But! I can post a screenshot here of my current settings...

    Quick shifter

Install wasn't hard. I took my time though, removed the fairing and the tank so I could reach the coils more easy (the manual for the MT-07 states they just remove the right tank fairing and access the coils from there, but you need tiiiiiny hands for that :)). And with the tank off it's more...

    Quick shifter

I have the Healtech Quickshifter installed, and.. it's FREAKING AWESOME! :D No seriously, next to the exhaust the best mod to really 'enhance/improve' your fun in riding. It really adds to the whole experience. Prepare to loose your license though, hehe. It's really addicting accelerating full...

Aerodynamic "Flat Plate Area" up to 100 mph

Long trips on the motorway with most (if not all) nakeds is not great. You will need a reasonably high screen for that (usually nakeds also have very low screens to keep the naked look, but again a tradeoff between form and function). I have the MRA racing screen, pretty big but it works great...

    Lambda 4 wire connector

I just disconnected the sensor (indeed the block behind the trim, which you can remove without much of a problem). Can't really help you, because I just disconnected it and wasn't much of a special job really. Just look at it closely and see how it fits. You can use a very small flathead...

    Steady throttle makes bike jerky

Don't have that problem with mine either. All smooth, also at steady throttle. Like sdrio I did come from a big one cylinder (KTM 690 Duke), which wasn't smooth at all (and that's an understatement :) ), so for me the MT 07 was such an improvement. It's even still really smooth after I...

mt07abs owners: comment the quality of the abs system

My 2 cents here, have the bike for a year now and don't think I ever had the front ABS kick in (if I was not provoking it e.g. testing how hard I can break on a gravel road). Don't slam on the brake, but ease in a bit and steadily build up pressure. I break quite hard on a regular basis, no ABS...

    SC Project Exhaust fitted

At a German forum someone compared the two: Original ~ 7.2 kg SC Project ~ 3.5 kg So it saves 3.7 kg, not too shabby :p

    SC Project Exhaust fitted

Yay! Got everything back and it fits as it should! Including a nice spacer and heat resistant sticker (they forgot to add that with the other replacement silencer). Time to drive! :)

Engine cuts off when the clutch lever pulled in

The maintainance chart clearly states a fuel injection system sync, also at the first service. So they can claim what they want, but why is it in the maintainance chart then?

    SC Project Exhaust fitted

I received the replacement silencer quite fast from SC-Project. Unfortunately the Y piece (collector) and silencer does not fit (the end of the silencer is not perfectly round, so impossible to slide the two together). Bit of a bummer.. now I have to send the two faulty silencers ánd the Y piece...

    Auxiliary DC Connector

Guess just replacing the connector for another one is most easy in the end. Got myself these from eBay (to create a connector for more easy battery charging): 5 Kit 2 Pins Waterproof Electrical Wire Connector Plug | eBay

    SC Project Exhaust fitted

Will do! The new one should be on it's way, but no idea when it will arrive. SC-Project will also take care of the shipment of the old silencer back to them, so perhaps they combine the two. Wasn't that clear in the e-mail, but I'll just wait and see :)

    SC Project Exhaust fitted

I had to make a little spacer to get more room at the mounting bracket. Otherwise mine would also hit the swingarm. So I had the same problem you have. I think it has to do with where they weld the mounting bracket on the exhaust. If that is slightly off, the exhaust gets too close to the...

    Removal of tank plastics

Pushing the centre piece down to 'unclip' the side panel is key. It becomes so much easier after that. Push the centre piece down, and pull the side cover up (so you work in both directions). I recently installed a quickshifter and had all the plastic pieces removed (and the tank etc). Should...
