Thanks for the info.
Is this why i finding pull away a bit sluggish off the bat.....once moving its fine, just that 0-10mph bit that's lacking.....doesn't bother me really....such a plush ride otherwise.
Also, more oomph on the run.......had litre sports in the past, as well as bigger nakeds...
Just traded my 64 plate ABS MT-07 (I had from new) with 10,350 miles on the clock.
I had an SC-Project system on, Evotech Rad guard, Rizoma screen (smoked clear) and cheap ebay shorties worth £20.......I got 4k against a 300 mile, pre-registered 15 plate F800R with ALL the optional extras, of...
I've not been riding as long as you I suspect (26 years, full licence 20) and I've had lots of different gear and like you, it's all leaked....in the end.
Never stumped up the folding for Rukka beyond a pair of gloves....Would be interested to hear how get on with the jakcet and trousers...
Yamaha made a real clanger with the horn button IMO. "Heat of the moment" comment is spot-on for me.
I love the bike, apart from build quality and personally wanting an alternative to chain drive for lower maintenance...I can't image a more suited bike that delivers decent torque and cuts...
Done about 4,000 miles now and still hate the horn button location.
I've also come up with the idea of swapping wiring so the headlight flash/pass button does the horn and vice-versa.
Would this cause an issue in 2.5 years when I go for my first MOT? (UK based)
Still think the MT07 is a...
Same here. My bike came with the BT's and have been using PR2's and 3's for the last few years on my previous bikes.
I don't like the Bridges. Poor in the wet, take an age to warm up and not even that good in the dry. As soon as my back tyre is worn, I'll be losing the front too in favour of...
Not great pictures but hopefully they give an idea of scale and general look.
It's a shame in many ways to stick a carbuncle on the back of such a compact machine....but because it's so compact and agile it invariably attracts folk like me who need/want a fun commuter....and the 07 is, in my...
Got to back up Phil's comment; when a dealer looks after you, keeps you informed and does the little things right it does add to the whole experience.
Woodford Motorcycles did me proud. I messed them about and rejected a bike registered to me because I changed my mind and wanted ABS. They...
Thanks Gaz.
Let's us know the score when you know more....much appreciated.
This is surely the best use of funds for this bike outside of the exhaust, surely?
Plundering my cash on a box of tricks that sits between the ECU and the fuelling for a handful of extra ponies......what good is that...
Very interesting; any idea on total cost for this, back and front?
A fellow biker recently asked me what I thought of the bike now I've done a couple of thousand miles....the first thing I said was..."The engine writes cheques the suspension cannot cash"
It's needs sorting for proper fun to...
Congrats on the Striple Phil, I'm sure you'll be very happy.
I'm running my MT with a SC-project system and DNA Air filter....noise issue sorted :)
If I didn't have two small kids and new home to blast money on I'd have the MT and either Street or perhaps a Speed Triple in the Garage...
We could be one of the same? Have we ever been spotted in the same place at the same time? :)
Always fancied the 690....the tall seat height put me off though.
Just would like a sensible, not silly money back-up commuter with a single lump. The F650cs ticks many boxes...that belt drive...
Ditto.
I'm only 5'7 and I test rode the 1050 tiger; took it back after 10 minutes.
Had a 2 year affair with a KTM SuperDuke. Loved it but height issues meant I was never totally at one with the bike all the time.
The 07 fits like glove. I'd like s bit more top-end poke...not top speed, just...
Couldn't agree more.
The Honda however is a country mile behind the MT. It's heavier and furnished with a duller engine too. (Half a Jazz....enough said)
For me, I'd ideally have 3 bikes in the garage.
The MT07 for everyday duties. I'd replace my ageing back-up commuter (Honda NTV650) with a...
Yes! The reduced juice bill. :)
To me, the low end, sub 50mph torque feels like a litre IL4 anyway.
The 07 does quite like to be ragged compared to most other twins I've had, it's almost like a halfway house between a twin and a triple in that respect I think
It's slim, light-ish, agile and...
True but a bit curt perhaps?
To the OP;
Been riding 26 years, had all sorts but basically got bored of IL4's. Still love a good triple but twins tick so many boxes for me in the "real world" every day biking / commuting that I do.
Last bike was a stop-gap 2009 XJ6 after a cab driver...
