I have extra neoprene foam on mine with more foam for the 'sit' bones. I covered it with neoprene sheet. It is inelegant but works a treat. No aches even riding for over 2 hours.
Very sorry you had a knock. At least no injury. Hope you wont give up on thinking about having a bike. I have had so much fun and I returned to biking after a 50 year break nearly 10 years ago.
