Front end noise

I am not sure if every one is experiencing the same issue as me. There seems to be an awful lot of noise coming from the front when I am riding. Its almost a gargle type noise. I know theres' nothing wrong with the engine/suspension just the open front of the bike I guess. Anyone else have this issue or am I being a bit pandandic? Any thoughts please....

Also when I go over bumps etc I do hear a clunky type noise from front suspension. I haven't even done 350 miles yet and definitely been riding very very conservatively. Is this just what the spec on this bike provides?

I have also two noises on mine.. One seems to come from the chain.. The other is a "click" when pressing the front suspension down with the bike standing still.. (brakes on)

I've definitely heard a few clickety clack type noises at say 40mph. Hard to describe but seem like the regular workings of the bike... especially as a twin.

As for a gargle, is this high or low speed? There is a nice induction burble/gargle to my ear - especially through town in 2nd/3rd. This seems louder when the bike is warm.

The chain was "whiry" after a few hundred miles, but a nice clean and a bit of lube sorted that. The slack was also out of spec by this point. Have you checked it?

If there's anything specific and worrying. I'd run it the dealers to be safe.

Hi mate. Ive sat on the bike with engine off and applied front brake. and then pushed down on front forks. They make a clunk noise. Although not metallic sound sort of plastic . It seems to come from the suspension rods. Its not hitting anything. I wonder if everyone elses does this same noise. As when I ride over bumps etc I notice it.

Also that gargling noise when riding starts over 30mph and is very annoying. I assume that is the wind thru naked bikes?

I am taking the bike this morning to Yamaha to get it checked

the clunk noise is down to the floating front brake discs (inner section) they have floating round connectors and its these that move and rub when you push hard down on the front forks with brake on. This is what Yamaha have told me and it apeears correct. He said as the bike breaks in this will cease. Can someone else try this. I thought it was coming from the front pistons.

I also experience some "cling cling cling cling" noise ( not loud ) when the bike goes beyond 40 kph. It seems like its caused by the wind running through some loose parts. its quite annoying.

Why are they changing the discs thought they said it was normal noise ask them if this will be a recall on all bikes

There's certainly a lot of wind noise from the front end. Starts from around 30mph and just gets louder. Not engine or transmission (pulled the clutch, let revs drop away, no change in noise) or brakes (gently apply so there is no slack). I hope a fly screen (when they arrive) will cover the vents above the light: I suspect these.
