Does VAT come into it with second hand bikes?
Currently a near £5200 brand new MT has an actual trade value of £4350
and you pay 20% tax on it from new. So if you bought it and returned it to trade it in the next day that is what it would be worth.
I was offered £3.5k for mine in standard...
I had the UK mechanical restriction done to my bike this week before selling it. I can confirm the only change the dealer made was putting the L shaped bit of metal at the throttle pulley to act as a shorter stop. So no ECU changes on revs etc. Whilst clearly they have to develop and test it and...
I'd just stick pilot road 4s on. I have PR3s on my MT and PR4s on my street triple and the 4s are much taller and narrower even in a matching 180/55 size. They turn in quickly!
I can only take credit for being a "low involvement" mod (my approach is basically to tell people to stop being an idiot if I see it happening) and starting this particular thread.
The forum itself is run by "the admin". A chap called Dennis.
I do wonder if they're hard to set up... cost...
And I remember starting it when there were about 4 members on here and barely any MT-07s in the country!
And I thought... I wonder if this site will take off?
Only reason I kept the MT is that I wasn't happy with the trade in offer from triumph.
Then I kept it whilst I made sure I liked the street...
Now just meaning to sell it... and being rubbish at finding the time!! :-/
So I should stick with what I've got then :-D
Only problem I have is that these two pretty much do the same thing. I will have to part with the MT eventually...
Bubbles... you can fit the quickshifter to the regular street triple. No need to go for the RX for that.
Pre-regs should come up over Christmas time. Picked mine up for 6700 delivered last December if that tempts you?
Not ridden it enough this year with a new baby but I love it and my MT has...
Interesting thread! I've considered getting one of these for my triumph (they're plug and play) as I've heard they're a good laugh!
Also a big fan of the blipped downshift. Not as easy on the MT as some other bikes as lots of engine breaking and not the closest ratios.
I'd think something mild like Autoglym super resin polish should do it fine. Used it to make the plastic reflectors on classic bikes shiny again. It's quite a good plastic polish and very fine!
I just went for a regular street triple. Felt weird at first but my is it a good bike.
More plush, more power, more noise. For ~£1500 more than an MT07 I can see where its been spent!
How are people's downpipes looking after up to a year with your bikes.? Managed to keep on top of mine pretty well and gave them a polish this weekend:
To OMGitsMike. Mine was fun through all the summer and spring raid it was exposed to last year. Noticed a couple of spots on chain and discs after riding it on gritted roads.
Have tried to tidy it up and stopped riding it so much in winter.
This seems to have dodged any horrid problems. So a 3...
No room on the bars for a standard "bar mount". A flat sticky mount would fit on top of the air intakes if you didn't mind sticking it on the plastic. Or a "roll cage" mount to the tubular side frame below the tank.
I have to say with a bit of time and an oil change passed, and chain and clutch definitely in spec (I had been over tightening the clutch slack the local yamaha garage said) I don't have these problems anymore. It's a nice box.
In this day and age Peter it is not unreasonable for people to have concerns about sharing email addresses when they are being requested fairly "arbitrarily".
Fair enough if you are offering people a favour and don't want to post the link publically but it's also fair enough if people don't...
No worries ReGo, for my part I was feeling a bit tetchy yesterday and didn't mean to single you out. I just see it a lot.
-Take the DB killer out
-Put the DB killer in
-less revs
-more revs
-On board footage
-buy a professional external mic setup
-do it indoors
-outdoors
Etc!
You get it with...
