Tec bike parts spring upgrade - anyone done this?

Hi guys, I'm thinking of upgrading my forks, was going to try something cheap first, like this https://shop.tecbikeparts.com/products/yamaha-fork . Was just wondering if anyone has bought this product and whether its worth it? I don't find the rear shock too bad unless I'm really pushing on, so...

Black Widow Exhausts - a cautionary tale!

Quick follow up - doing some research & every other seller of decats that claim to fit std can have the flange that the Black Widow is missing! Wish I'd noticed prior to purchase. By chance I also got chatting to someone this weekend who had also had bad experience of their fit.

Black Widow Exhausts - a cautionary tale!

Hi guys, just thought i'd post this thread to warn you of my personal experiences with Black Widow. Firstly I should say when I had an R6 decat system (when they were known as Sandy Bike Spares) from them it fitted great. Unfortunately the same cant be said for the £435 titanium decat system I...

Has anyone got bored of their MT07?

Certainly sounds it to me! Give Tamworth Yamaha a call, I happened to see an ad for the R1M at 18K (after the YRE experience, old stock effectively), popped down from Derby and unfortunately it sold the night before, but to my amazement they had 4 new R1s for sale at 13K+otr fees unregistered...

Has anyone got bored of their MT07?

Has anyone got bored of their MT07?

Hi Jamie, the MT07 has a good reputation for very good reason. It isnt perfect of course, but no motorcycle I've ever ridden is. Its got the easy to ride nature but with added fun/grin factor, plus its nice & simple. I'm fortunate enough to have a 2017 R1, a 2015 MT07 & a Duke KTM 390 (now don't...

    New motorcycle help

Having owned an MT07 and a KTM 390 and several Suzuki's, I have to say that if you want reliability, especially in hot climates, STAY AWAY FROM KTM!!! They overheat on a 8c ambient ride, mine breaks down repeatedly, 1500 miles and its been replaced (whole bike) by dealer, replacement new bike...

Standard Comfy or Bespoke Seat Modification MT-07 2015

I disagree - looks bloody amazing! I tried to do my own for my KTM, and I'm quite handy with everything from a scalpel to a mig torch, but it looked crap compared to this. This one even looks better than my Yamaha comfort seat

    Aluminium case covers from Aliexpress

Liked the look of these at first, but when you see the close up of inner surface on the link, there's far too much leverage placed on the mounting bolts by the aluminium arms - the arms are quite thick, although only aluminium, I would be very surprised if the bolts didn't shear off flush to the...

Official accessory price rises - Yamabits still on 2016 prices

Hi all, just thought I'd point out to members that as well as putting new bike prices up, Yamaha UK have increased all accessories by between about 5&10% too. That puts a comfort seat to £211!! The good news is that Yamabits don't yet seem to have adjusted their prices (everyone else I could...

Rear Tyre size - what Yamaha says

I wouldn't dream of it. The insurers would have a field day stiffing you if you had an accident for sure, and all for no significant benefit. It would have an impact on ride height and therefore stability, side wall profile, grip etc etc. If you want faster handling just fit a tyre with a...

To lean or not to lean?

I used to do a bit of club racing, and can safely say 8 road years after having stopped that I was faster & more able to deal with higher corner speeds whilst road riding during my racing years, when I always used to hang off (I can remember it just felt alien not to, as I did most of my miles...
